The School of Radiologic Technology offers: the chance to enter a challenging career in a high-technology field, the chance to enter a satisfying career contributing to the care of others, potential for future growth and specialization in medical imaging such as CT, sonography, nuclear medicine, angio-graphy, mammography, radiation therapy, and MRI, a stimulating environment for professional development.

The School of Radiologic Technology is affiliated with a progressive, regional health care facility, Rockingham Memorial Hospital, and is affiliated with Blue Ridge Community College.

Blue Ridge Community College (BRCC) is a public, two-year community college located in Weyers Cave, Virginia. Students in the program complete a course of study at RMH as well as BRCC to receive the Associate in Arts and Sciences degree as well as the diploma in Radiologic Technology.

Clinical Facilities
The Radiology Department offers students experience in and exposure to all aspects of radiography and medical imaging. The student will have the opportunity to observe all modalities of medical imaging and radiation therapy. Also available to the student is the opportunity to gain clinical experience at the RMH Outpatient Center and Center for Corporate Health facilities.

The Radiologic Technologist
A career in radiologic technology can be personally gratifying because you will be performing a humanitarian service. Radiologic technologists should be willing to work with sick and disabled persons, to be sympathetic and perceptive of their needs, to perform accurate and thorough work, and to work in a field of advancing medical technology. The radiologic technologist is an assertive, ambitious, and flexible individual.
