New Graduate Support Group |

Part I: Round Table Discussion
- Facilitator meets with new grads approximately 6 weeks after being hired for a roundtable discussion to assess/discuss what is going well and what challenges they are having
- New grads share questions, concerns, fears, challenges, and successes of being a new nurse
- The meeting provides a networking opportunity with peers
- The setting is supportive and safe; conversations are confidential and the new grads are encouraged to speak honestly about their perceptions and experiences
- Feedback from these discussions is used to improve orientation
Part II: New Nurse Graduate Workshop
- New grads attend an 8-hour workshop in April or November
- New grads are introduced to support services and people available to support them
- Agenda/Topics of discussion include the following:
- Reality Shock
- Time Management (Organization, Prioritization, Delegation)
- Team Building
- Dealing with Conflict
- Generational Influences
- Surviving Shift Work (Taking control of sleep and proper eating habits)
- Achieving Work/Life Balance
