Once an applicant has accepted an offer, the applicant will be contacted by our Employee Health Assistant to notify applicant to call RMH Occupational Medicine to schedule the pre-employment physical and toxicology/drug screen. |
|
Applicant will receive a welcome packet in the mail. |
|
Please note RMH Occupational Medicine is not located at the main hospital campus. It is located at 1790-64B East Market Street, Harrisonburg, in the Kroger’s shopping center. |

- Please arrive no less than 15 minutes early for your appointment at RMH Occupational Medicine.
- Come prepared to complete a medical history questionnaire and discuss past medical history as needed.
- Have a TB test done (a chest X-ray will be performed if TB test has been positive in the past).
- Provide specimen for toxicology/drug testing.
- Conduct pre-employment physical.
- Be advised when to return for TB test results.

A half day Monday-Wednesday Joint Commission-required orientation assists new employees in adjusting to their new environment and in learning about their new employer. For more information, call 540-689-6200. |

What do I wear?
Business casual attire (uniforms are not necessary). Jeans and flip-flops are not appropriate.

When do I arrive?
Orientation begins at 8 a.m. each day. Please arrive no later than 7:45 a.m. Orientation ends at 12:30 p.m. to break for lunch. After lunch you will report to your assigned department. |

Where do I park?
During Hospital Orientation, please park in Lot “A”, which is the Main Patient/Visitor Lot. Please park towards the back of Lot “A”. We have a parking program that will be explained during Hospital Orientation.

What do I bring?
Bring your identification proving your eligibility to work in the US, your social security card for payroll purposes, license/certification for your job (if applicable), CPR certification card (if applicable and you have one) and your signed offer letter.
To sign up for a parking permit you will need to know the automobile license plate number, manufacturer, and model/year of your car. |

What happens on Orientation Day?
During the three half day orientation sessions, you will become acquainted with Rockingham Memorial Hospital, your benefits, and responsibilities as an employee. A continental breakfast will be provided on day one of orientation. Lunch will be on your own. |
