Perioperative Services
RMH
provides a variety of surgical services to our community, including
general, vascular, GYN, plastics/hand, podiatry, dental, orthopedics,
spine, urology, pain management, ophthalmology, ENT and ENDO. Our
volume is nearly 19,000 cases per year.
The
perioperative nursing team at RMH supports shared governance and
independent, evidence-based practice. Communication with patients
and families is critical in the perioperative environment. Because
of this, we have just implemented SmartTrack, an electronic patient
tracking system that delivers up-to-the-minute, HIPAA-compliant
patient status information to family members and friends via plasma
screens mounted in our family waiting areas.
RMH
currently has two cardiac catheterization labs where diagnostic
cardiac catheterizations, cardiac and vascular interventions, and
permanent cardiac pacemaker implants are performed. Our cardiologists
are actively recruiting for an EP physician to join our heart and
vascular team, and we anticipate the need for a third cardiac cath
lab prior to moving to our new hospital in 2010. RMH recently purchased
a 64-slice CT scanning system and intends to augment its diagnostic
imaging services by implementing cardiac CT this year.
Our
IT department has supported our drive for technology by developing
a Citrix deployed environment that provides clinicians with web
access to images and clinical documentation from remote locations.
RMH Perioperative Services has invested in voice activated video
equipment, and our new open heart OR will offer technology that
supports access to clinical images, electronic medical records and
bedside charting.
We are
excited about our hospital’s future, and we are looking forward
to meeting clinicians who want to partner with us to create an outstanding
Cardiac Surgery program for our community. Bring your passion for
being part of something new, your excitement for sharing your knowledge,
and your enthusiasm for practicing in an environment that respects
a balance of professional and family life.
