If you’re looking for a workplace where you play an essential
role on a talented team, where your skills and gifts are valued, look
no further than RMH.

Community
Outreach through Comprehensive Services
Community wellness and outreach are the cornerstones of the RMH
mission. In fact, in 2003, our hospital was awarded the Voluntary
Hospitals of America Inc. Leadership Award for excellence in community
health improvement. To learn more about our comprehensive

Focus
on Technology
Staying abreast of the latest developments in medical technology
is another important part of the RMH mission.
| Recent
advances include: |
|
|
Smart
operating room technology, featuring voice activated equipment
and high definition imaging; |
|
|
Portable
computerized bedside charting system; |
|
|
SonArray™
technology, using ultrasound and cameras during prostate cancer
treatment to enhance accuracy; |
|
|
Computer
Aided Detection (CAD), supplementing radiologists’ reading
of mammograms through computerized analysis; and |
|
|
Robotic
pharmacy system, enhancing patient safety |
In addition,
starting in April 2007, MEDITECH systems will serve as the new software
platform for core clinical information systems at RMH. This system
lays the foundation for the future implementation of the integrated
electronic medical record (EMR), bedside medication administration
system and
computerized physician order entry (CPOE) system.
Our
Leadership, Our Culture
The RMH administrative team is led by Chief Executive Officer T.
Carter Melton Jr., who has worked at RMH since 1974, and by President
Jim Krauss, who joined the RMH team in 2000. In partnership with
the hospital’s volunteer board of directors, the RMH administration
has worked to successfully predict trends in the healthcare environment
and to respond proactively, thus preserving RMH’s financial
security and independent hospital status. The hospital’s administration
has also been successful in creating a cohesive internal community.
An emphasis on work/life balance attracts and retains talented employees
who are committed to their work, but who also consider quality of
life outside of work to be an important factor in job satisfaction.
On
the Horizon. . .
A New RMH Health Campus
In preparation for a second century of service, the RMH administration
and board of directors recently announced the decision to build
a new hospital and health campus on 254 acres just east of Harrisonburg,
scheduled to open by 2010. The new site chosen for RMH provides
the ideal place to make the hospital’s vision of the health
campus of the 21st century a reality. Learn more about the new RMH
Hospital and Health Campus by visiting “The
Future” page. |
